replaced 3/8ths of the plugs today pulling out this healthy sucker
The rest I need to pull out some hoses and the intake and i'm not in the mood for that at the moment.

Healthy but due to be replaced.
I have to do my own plugs soon.
And that also made me think... Imagine having a Bugatti Veyron or a modern Chrysler Hemi? You would only be 3/16ths done!

Wish that Charlie's spark plugs looked that clean. Pretty sure they were dirtier before they even made it into place.

Do the Hemi's have two plugs per cylinder ?!?!

Plus a Bugatti engine HAS to be a complete knucklebuster.

The new ones do mainly for emissions reasons. I have a friend who has an SRT Magnum and he was telling me how he had 16 spark plugs to change.
This was in relation to me saying how easy and quick a spark plug change will be on my Focus.

I bet you can't do anything without dropping it.

Most will probably never get driven enough to warrant new plugs

Yes they do.
16 Iridium NGK Spark Plugs for a full change. 135$.

I'm pretty sure putting two plugs down holes that deep is the work of a criminal mastermind.

Chrysler said it was because of emission issue, so their vaguely hemispherical heads could pass EPA testing.
Also, since Chrysler was owned by Daimler at the time, they based the design on Mercedes-Benz V8 mill, which also used dual spark plugs for ''cleaner burning'' and ''increased fuel economy''.

that sounds wasteful tbh
Why not engineer for Maximum efficiency and less parts ,

because Mercedes-Benz.
But yeah, it's stupidly wasteful, IMO. whatever performance gain it gets by its vaguely hemispherical heads isn't worth paying double price for the spark plugs.
The Hemi is a marketing gimmick, nothing more. I still love it, but this irks me to no end.
